Rooftop Comedy Launches Talent Institute for Nation's Most Promising Comedians
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) July 17, 2009 -- Rooftop Comedy (www.RooftopComedy.com), the leading comic talent discovery network and interactive media producer of comedy content and comedic branded entertainment, this week launches the Rooftop Comedy Talent Institute, a four-week intensive training program providing the nation's most promising college comedians the training and support they need to launch their entertainment careers.
The program builds on the natural talent of the five hand-selected stand-up comics to further develop their performance, writing, and career marketing skills. With a seven-day-a week schedule, students will attend interactive workshops and seminars taught by professional writers and performers, meet with entertainment industry leaders and perform at nightly comedy shows. The program culminates with a performance entirely written and produced by the students on July 29th at Stage Werx in San Francisco, CA.

Students are selected through a highly competitive application process that drew hundreds of applicants from around the country. Four of this year's five participants were finalists in the 2009 National College Comedy Competition, one was a member of the winning stand-up Comedy Team and was also awarded MVP, and one was the winner of the Funny Film Competition. The five participants include:

• Dave Thomason from University of California, Berkeley
• Reid Faylor from Xavier University
• Max Fox from Emerson College
• Will Hatcher from Florida International University
